I am Delano Langras. I was born and raised in the Netherlands. Currently i am a student at the HRO in Rotterdam, following Trade Management at Asia (Asia). It is very similair to International Business, but it concentrates on the Asian markets. In 2009-2010 I lived in Indonesia. The country has amazed me, with its possibilities and the strange things i saw here daily. My love for Indonesia doesn't come from nowhere. My mother is Dutch and my father is Indonesian, so i was introduced to the Indonesian culture at a very young age. Travelling brought me to far destinations in Asia, Europe and South America, e.g. Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica and several other countries. Because of these travels, my curiousity grew more and more for foreign cultures.
I think i am of the progressive kind. I like to see how this world goes forward. I grew up with one of the first computers and saw it grow to what it is today. New technology interests me and i always think about how these technologies can be implemented in our world. Internet also keeps me busy and i know the importance of internet and all other forms of communication in this modern world. It can be further explained with the education i did before this one, namely Business Informatics. It is about implementing IT systems in to Businesses as efficiently possible. But my recent education, TMA, has been far more interesting for me. Basicly, because it is about marketing on an international level. And just as technology becomes faster and better every day, cultures and economies in the world change and get closer too eachother.
About this blog
This blog will be about the Indonesian market. I will write about marketing in Indonesia. I will talk about Indonesian culture, Indonesian economy, how certain companies should introduce their products in to the Indonesian market and how Indonesians use marketing. I will compare it with the Western world. I will talk about how Western products can become succesful in the Indonesian market and how Indonesian products can become succesful in the Western market. The products can be anything, such as food, transportation, natural resources, construction, and my favourite, communication.
I might use this blog too talk about my travels too or about other countries. Perhaps i make another blog for that.
